"Sometimes a professor creates a wonderful tool to teach a class. How can that professor share this ingenious concept? Wesleyan College has developed Learning Objects Learning Activities (LoLa), a repository for simulations and other interactive applications, like a chick embryo video students can watch to see how the cells form. "There's no way to convey that with a blackboard," says Michael Roy, director of academic computing services and digital library projects at Wesleyan. In December, a new version of LoLa will launch with 1,000 of these learning objects."
